My clutch is at times seeming to sick causing the engine to rev when at 3500 revs, instead of putting the power down is this the clutch or another problem.

I've only been a owner for 4 weeks its a little bit new.

If it is the clutch can any one suggest a good garage for a new one

Cheers

John

John,

Sounds like you are on the money to me,

best test is to try it going up a mild hill at 3500 revs then boot it, if you get hesitation and the revs sky rocket then 9/10 a slipping clutch you have.

If you fancy doing the job yourself it aint the hardest thing in the world as long as you can get the car in the air safely for an extended period of time.

You could do worse than a Nissan Dealer, but phone around for prices, make sure you get a decent clutch fitted tho, as you know by now these things have quiet a lot of crank HP on them and will eat a cheap clutch like a Fat

bird in a candy store.

Labour is the killer as the gearbox will have to be dropped which you will be looking at around 350 labour from your average Nissan Dealer. If you are thinking of upgrading the Power of the car get a performance clutch, ACT do a very nice one, choose the on for you and get on the blower to turboimports.com or the like.

You didn't put your location in your profile so i can't reccommend anyone in your area, better get it updated or risk angering Craig, he's a bit of a stalker you see :o)) ...just kiddin dude.

hope that helps

I paid $400 for my ACT clutch from 'Turbo Imports', my local Nissan dealer charged about £150 to fit it. Plus a free Micra as a courtesy car (never again!)

Dave,

My dealer charged me 5hrs at £40 +vat to fit my RPS clutch.

Have I been ripped off here or did you get yours done cheap?

Steve

Steve, my bill came to £152.16,

3 & 3/4 hrs at about £41.00 per hour (inclusive of VAT)
