thats it the family will be suing the force!!

ive no sympathy for them. good ridance as far as im concerned. anyone who goes out with a weapon such as guns intending to commit robbery, harm, or kill, deserves to be shot dead IMO. at the end of the day its pre-meditated.

could not agree more.

should of shot the other 2 whilst they were at it....

They were obviously shot for a reason so i wouldnt blame the police. It's like soldiers parents trying to sue the military because their son died on the grounds they put him in danger

one of my school mates has worked his way up through the force and is now in the Armed Response Unit and let me tell you those guys dont mess about. They are trained for headshots with a high calibre semi-auto handgun on a approaching target reaching point blank. They carry 4 leathal weapons on them at all times with one of them being a Taser. When i jokingly asked about the pump action shotguns he said they keep them in the boot!

If they are called out to a situation they are for one reason. To take down the target with leathal force. They dont need a signal from a commanding officer, whether they open fire is down to their judgement and that is what they are there to do.

If you run away from them after you have been told to stop like the guy on the Stockwell tube on a highly tense day there was only going to be one way that would end.

It all sounds like macho action man stuff but there are alot of guns out there and the ARU are there to protect people from criminals with these illegal firearms.

Glad they got it right this time.

It was a shame when they shot & killed that Brazilian lad on the underground for looking a bit foreign.

it wasnt like the guy just got shot out of the blue, he ignored their order to stop running away several times and if you look at their training if someone is running away and ignoring your orders he becomes a legitimate target.

They knew about this brazilian guy before the shooting. Had him picked up and followed on CCTV, profile and background checked out on police and MI5 computers etc and he still remained under suspicion. They knew exactly who he was, he wasnt some random guy. why was he picked out by the cameras initially? because he looked foreign? Probably, but you have to remember what the tension in london was like at the time.

On a day when people are planting bombs on tubes and buses in repeat of events 2 weeks previous i am glad the ARUs can react on their instincts instead of having to get written confirmation with 3 signatures, one from the PM, one from the Queen, be passed through the house of commons etc because it doesnt take long to press a button or pull a trigger and kill innocent people.

Thats what happens when you mess with South Central!

Like Dirty Harry says - "nothing wrong with shooting, as long as the right people get shot".
