I am planning on fitting an electronic boost controller, so firstly what is the best psi setting for my 1992 jap spec tt auto standard except for a blitz sus induction kit. Also will i have to do anything extra to the car to handle the extra power? Any help would be great.

Yeah where are you, your avatar says a few places?

Also you know everything there is to know, whats the best psi and will i need to do anything extra. I am also thinking of new eibach coils and shockers, are they a good idea - will it improve my handling?

I spend my time pretty equally between Rotherham, S Yorks and Leyland, Lancs. If its auto you deffo need to make sure you have an uprated 'box cooler fitted! Make sure the brakes are good then get it chipped and up the boost. 12psi is a happy compromise between performance and reliability. Has the car been well serviced? Including auto fluid?

Eibach's give a good effect, what shocks are you thinking of?

Cheers,

Andy

Tha shocks are part of a package with the coils, i think the package is jdm/eibach (but not 100%, as it was a while when i found them on the internet). My car has a full jap history and has been well maintained by myself (only serviced about 1000 miles ago), not sure about previous owner however he only owned it for six months and he was the first UK owner. As for gearbox, the oil has not been changed by myself however it is a lovely pink colour which means it is good.

As for chipping, what do you mean by that, i am still a novice regarding this sort of thing, my car is fitted with a blitz access ecu, will that be ok or will something further have to be done?

And the box cooler, where do i buy one and roughly how much will it cost to buy and fit - is there anybody local who is willing to take on the task? My rad was brand new less than a year ago - does that help me or not?

Also do you know anybody local who would do jobs like i want done to my car, as most mechanics run a mile in the other direction when i mention what my car is.

The blitz ECU is pretty much a 'chipped' ECU so you've got that aspect covered already :)

KYBs with Eibachs are about the best you're going to get without spending mega money - in fact you'll probably find most folk on here have the exact same items fitted!

Auto cooler - Luke @ http://www.zcentre.co.uk

Where to get the work done, well, erm, what can I say LOL ;) :D

Cheers,

Andy

*whispers* I think he means he'll do the work for you *COUGH!*

Sounds about right - a brave mechanic is hard to find, i have to twist my mechanics arm to do anything cos he's old school, likes his old simple cars - you know what i mean :p

Anyway Andy, cheers for the help, appreciate it, you will be the first person i bother with a problem in the future :xxx:
