Just like to say thanks to all those members that turned up at the weekend and ensured the re-scheduled Billing event was a big success. The weather was perfect all weekend and only goes to back up the ZClubs decision to cancel Billing in July. I for one am convinced it was the correct decision.

Even after three years in the club, I still met many new members. In fact, I reckon there were more people at the event that I hadn't met, than there were those that I had. Duffers, Saz, Crotchrocket, Rag Top Rob, Ceejay, ShelZX and many more.

I must take this opportunity to say a special thankyou to Steve Burns and Derek Sulley (and the rest of the ZClub Committee) for their efforts in organising the event at Sherbrooke Scout Camp. I know they put in a lot of time organising their 30th birthday bash. I thought the location was perfect. The facilities were spot on. There were toilets and shower facilities and more important, we had access to a kitchen for communal breakfasts. Speaking of food; once again, I must say another special thankyou to Darren (Madhammster). He grafted his pods off again this year, cooking right through the Saturday night and was up first thing Sunday morning making breakfast for everyone who stayed over. He stayed until right into the Sunday afternoon, cooking on the BBQ. That's the third year running that Darren has offered his services to the club. Thanks Darren!!

This was the first joint event between the two clubs I had been involved in and I know I speak for many other 300ZX.co.uk members, by saying that it was great to have all the older, classic zeds alongside our Z32's. I hope this will be the first of many and look forward to joining together again in 2008. I have made friends with some really nice people from the ZClub, Steve Burns, Paul Wrangle, Suzy, Derek Sulley to name but a few.

I feel that both clubs will benefit from sharing knowledge and expertise between them. It seems pretty clear to me that, in terms of a car club, the ZClub are in a different league, whereas, we have greater strengths in our forum.

I would like to have gone to it, but unfortunately I was mid-way over the North Atlantic at the time. :)

Like I said Si. My post was not meant as a personal dig at you mate. I know you would have loved to come.

Just having a general whinge about the poor turnout and how it had a negative effect on the awards. Never mind!

Can I suggest an extra award for next year to be added? Most innovative idea/way of doing a job? There's a lot of people on here with some great ideas and it would be nice to give some credit for their time and effort :)

Any comments? IMO even if we had an extra 100 cars turn up on the day then the awards would still have gone to the same people! Maybe reduce the car awards to winners only but also have a best overall COTM. More personal level awards are needed without a doubt, and serious ones at that! Biggest post whore is funny but its nothing to really brag about lol. Best car restoration, best improvement in dyno figure etc etc all need consideration IMO

Cheers,

Andy

speak for yourself, im proud shows my dedication to hounding the members with my expert pearls of wisdom, a worthy award if ive ever known one!!

If more members attended I'm sure Smithy. Jason Farrow and myself would not have won the trophies we did.
