Ok this isn't good,

When traveling under acceleration in gears 2 and onwards i have a very bad vibration at around 3500. This happens at other RPM's as well.

It happens when accelerating progressively. Its not very noticable when booting it.

The whole car vibrates in a pulsating manner and then seams to clear up at around 4500rpm.

it happens at different speeds. and sometimes anywhere from 2500rpm

I think its gear box as its seams to be the point where the power is going into the box, or could that be torque convertor??

I am going to write an email to the garage i bought it from but would like to offer suggestions of what the fault is before i send it back next weekend as its a BMW garage without a Z clue!!!

Ive only done 3000 miles since i bought it.

Its under warrenty

im still in safety boost and my VVT isn't working  but i believe these are loom related

I have something similar on my auto, accept it happens more on acceleration when cold, slightly worse up hill, i was told it could be the prop, centre bearing, after 60mph eases off and not so bad when warm.

But if it were the prop it would be at a certain speed wouldn't it.

has the prop got a CV or UJ???? Was hinking if its a UJ it could be that?? as it doesn't do it when i give it some beens, meaning the UJ cant move cause it being forced together??

Does it do it more when you first drive the car and then reduces as the car is warming up? If so its likely to be the centre prop bearing, very common on 300zx's. You tend to feel it through the seat rather than through the steering wheel. Do a search and you'll find loads of info.

By the way you were describing it as kind of surging at the weekend it does sound like the 'box unforts :(
