Just been looking through there and found a few items seem to be for sale which have already been "sold" and paid for by some pretty pissed off (understandably) members.

It doesn't look good for the club and it's visitors. How often does this go on? At the moment i'm awaiting delivery of something I paid for weeks ago and i'm getting messed about. I don't want to mention names as of yet, but i'm beginning to feel even more worried now after reading some of the threads where people are getting ripped off. I understand it's impossible to check on private sellers. it's left to trust and goodwill. Over the years i've bought and sold items from very decent members with no problem.

If you think about it it would be quite easy to come on here, subscribe for a few weeks , advertise some expensive parts get paid for them and then f*ck off with the cash. It's a pity there isn't another payment system.

Sorry to bring this up but couldn't help it

so far im £120 down on part bought and never seen from here.

Seems to be a minority, but they damage the clubs image....................... & of course rip fellow members off who share the same passion. :xxx: :xxx:

Maybe the 300zx clubs should set up a account on ebay some how with buy it now auctions for security.

Not sure how it would work exactly as it's like just gone 12 ha so i'm prob talking out my bum bum

know what your talking about mick not on, its a lot of money, when your on a forum like this 99.9% are good, give it a day or two then name and shame

If you use paypal at least you have some insurance

err got to disagree with you on that. paypal does little to nothing especialy if its a pay dispute transaction through fleabay. I have learned this to my cost and is why I no longer use either.

there is a couple of naughtys going on on here at the mo :smash: .

why do people do it hey  .

we are all zed lovers and to think someone will rip u off its not on.

and the thing is they keep on posting things up that people have either payed for or had first dibs on.

someone needs to sort it out and fast  .

just my opinion but i think some people think we are stupid.

Cheers trish, I'll give it to the end of next week then it's name and shame time

i mentioned this a while back on a similar thread, but as usual nothing was done about this. We , as a club, should introduce a feedback system as used on other bulliten boards that use v bulliten. Should help, but will it happen? doubt it

When I mentiioned this a couple of weeks ago after waiting since June 14th for some items to turn up and the member was ignoring me and Shunter (Neil) I was inforned that it was a 'private matter' and that the club could not help, so their you are, your on your own. In fact the annoying thing was that the person who ripped me off was being invited to run the clubs barbecue.?

Hope I havn't started any trouble here, it wasn't my intention. If you want to move it Stella?

If anyone has ever visited the skylineowners.com forum they would have seen a pretty good system there where each individual has a traders feedback score underneath the avatar and everyone can see what that is. I dont know how easy it would be to install but I am sure if you wanted gazza or I could find out and let the committee know if it can be implemented here?

that would be another good idea on that car forum we dont like on here :)

well i'm not going to become a keybroad warrior and lower myself..... Anyway I think the club should look at some sort of system of pos ang neg feed feed when buying and selling like ebay that would show how good or bad the buyer or seller is.

I've bought a fair bit of stuff and never had any problems tbh - tend to avoid buying from new members, or drive to meet them if necessary. Feedback sounds like a good idea - although I can't really see that 'the club' can get overly involved in these private transactions... if you got ripped off by someone advertising in the autotrader, the publisher's not going to help you!

Caveat emptor imho - you can search for posts by a user to see what they're like & and if it's too cheap, it's probably for a reason!

I can fully understand what your saying , but as now only members can buy , i feel the club should be doing more :) just mho

It sounds as though your saying that it is OK for members to rip other members off and then carryon doing so or engaging in club activities as though everything is alright. If the club does not want any responsibility they either do away with the 'items for sale' section or allow a 'name and shame' section to warn others and stop as in my experience a fraudulent activity by a club member, i.e I paid for something and never received the goods.

Sorry, the club is not responsible for members not keeping up their part of the contract, its between the two parties who have formed the transaction. Im sure whereever they could help they would however they are not liable for anything imho

If a paid up member does not send the goods, i see nothing wrong with them being disallowed to par take in any further activities with the club, lets face it though, they probably wouldnt anyway, once they have the cash

Dont understand that? :)

I agree with that staement. It isnt the clubs responsibillity to monitor every transaction but it would be in the clubs interest to put into action some kind of system where the members can gauge some sort of history on the seller. IMO.

Well I suggest you re-read my post again! The for sale section is basically a (free) advertising section which the club is the publisher of, and no publisher can be held responsible for adverts placed by third parties.

I don't know the details of the fraud you've been the victim of, but if it was a member on here, the police are one simple phone call away - fraud is a crime, and it's the polices responsibility to investigate, not an internet car forum's! If you don't like the fact, then don't buy from the forum - it really is as simple as that.

Obviously, once the police have investigated, you can pass the outcome to the committee and they can then ban the user if they see fit. The people who donate their time to the club can't be judge and executioner, basing their decisions on one random person on the internet saying they have been ripped off by/ mis-sold good by/ not happy with quality etc etc from another random person on the internet!

Have you informed the committee?

Oh, and name and shame section may as well be called "instant libel section'! Nice idea, but not very realistic.

I do think seller rating would be good - it provides some feedback without costing money and time.
