How hard is it to get one?

The car has been off the road for 2 years having all the engine n that done/rebuilt. I hope to be running some big power.

The Body work is ok, not brill but with subtle mods also stock wheels. I would love to go for a feature now while it's looking like this and then once the kit has been fitted and sprayed and wheels fitted i would like a front cover feature which i'm confident i should be able to get.

The kit/Wheels are currently on order and would like to think it would be fitted/sprayed just before the end of the year.

So basicly what are my chances getting a feature now with ok bodywork and stock rims and also getting a front cover once all complete?

Look on my rides section for pics as it is now, but keeping in mind it was still wet at the time so trick of the camera to get better pics.

what's a good mag these days?

I heard the Chav mag Max Power has turned around. Ha my mate with a chaved up corsa was moaning as they no longer feature cars like his and only do high performance vehicles

Is your car ready to be featured? I imagine you'll need very big power or something interesting about you or the car to get it featured with stock wheels and untidy standard bodywork.

I have quite an experience with mag features and the best advice i can give if you want a feature, is before you do any work, approach a mag and ask what THEY are looking for. Its really the only way to guarantee a feature. Other than that, prepare your own mini-feature, like a portfolio of the car (similar to the vb.garage on here) specs, pics, mods, plans etc and send it out to them. Also ask for a bit of feedback as to what else can be done.

If you want a car to ur own spec that you prefer, chasing a feature is a bit fruitless tbh.

It needs to photograph well (lighter colours) and be an outstanding example of the marque, tidy, smart and different primarily, second has to be highly modified but above all it must be different.

Due to my other car being featured i had very little say in the colour choice as i was given the choice of a few colours that had been narrowed down by the body shop and the mag.

I wouldnt change my car just to get it featured it's what i like but thats just me. You raised some very good points there though mate i wouldnt of thought of asking them what they are looking for

Totaly agree with Lamp Shader. Make your car how you want, not to get in a magazine.

If anyone's serious about getting their car in a japanese car magazine, give me a shout - I do the odd feature for one of the main mags. :)

I think it needs to be a very good or distinctive car or have an 'angle' or be very relevant to lots of people. IMO anyway.
