This is a bit naughty I know but i've got some downloaded movies I wanna put onto CD OR DVD...

There aXX0 releases and most of them only take up 700 - 750MB and are excellent quality! I wanna be able to play them in a standard DVD player so need some kind of converting software I guess to Convert the AVI files to VIDEO_TS...

What are you guys using as I'm having difficulty trying to find some software to do what I ask! Thanks very much!

Have a browse on http://www.download.com for DVD burning software. It has loads of trial/shareware software that you can try out. There's quite a few.

Alternatively, if you don't have a DVD burner you can burn VCD - again, search on the site above for this.

As a last resort you could use Windows Media Player to burn them (provided you have the newer versions) but it's not great and you can end up with a stack of knacked cds.

My tips would be to burn at the slowest rate possible and perhaps even get more than one movie on a disc, creating an 'index page' with your burning software which would save you loads of discs.

If you're going to buy software I'd recomment Easy CD as it's very simple to use, although another is Nero but I don't particularly like it.

p.s. In case you're not aware, although most newer dvd players can, a lot of the odler sets can't play VCD so check first. If you're going to be watching on your comp/lappy then it doens't really matter but would be better to just get an external HDD and store them all on there!

Converting from a divx avi to a DVD always involves lots of quality loss.

I used to try doing this, and i tried just about every program going, but none of them worked out satisfactorily.

I now don't bother with avis if i intend to play them on a DVD. I either wait until a retail DVD release is available on p2p or look for a screener DVD if you want it before it's released on DVD officially.

watch the torrents.....

Ive just had a warning about infringing copyrights and possible legal actions......

If you want to convert and burn to dvd (Apollo DivX to DVD ) there should be no noticeable loss in quality
