After going to trax at weekend i ended up with the hicas warning light coming on after travelling about 30 miles. it cleared itself whilst we was there but then decided to come back on again after about 30miles on the way home.

I remember that it did this before when i drove to Northampton.

any ideas what could be the trouble or does my car just not like the A14?

Is your steering wheel centered ? If not then the HICAS will detect a fault after driving for a few miles with the wheel off-centre.

Yep sounds like steering wheel off centre to me :)

GOT THE SAME PROB WITH MY ZED, CHANGED THE STEERING WHEEL AND NOW THE HI-CAS LIGHT COMES ON AFTER 20-30 MILES OF DRIVING. HOW DO YOU CENTRE THE STEERING WHEEL?

Just set the wheels so that they are both facing forward......then adjust the steering wheel accordingly!!!
