I was driving down the motorway this evening, when my batery light came on and my anti- locking brake light came on. I also found it very hard to turn my steering wheel, then the car started to over heat and i lost all oil pressure.

after leaving i sitting for a while i seem to have the same sytoms, but filled it back up with water to cool it down. But it dont sound to healthly when turned over, sounds very lumpy.

 

Any ideas. Not had the car more than 3 weeks, really upset now :confused: :cry:

1 belt maybe but both PAS and Alternator/Water Pump at the same time. I would check your pulley. I wonder if the woodruff key has been put back in or has come out.

 

Has it had a 60k service recently?

 

I would get someone to check this asap.

Ahh just noticed you are subscribed so you could always PM andyduff if you wanted. If its overheating I certainly wouldnt drive the car until you find the cause.

purchased 300zx.18 august. booked ferry to spian bilbao.drove 250miles passenger herd a niose coming from gearbox ( manuel )

location like a cassette rewinding.I pulled into the services steam coming from bonnet not exesive.AS I pulled into services engine cut out.I let caalldown for 2hours.filled radiater up. when I turned engine over water started to pump out hose at rear of engine by the windscreen.car is with a nissan dealer in barcelona.who said in spanish car is ------. he also said to a spanish freind he has never seen a 300sx before.thats worying.Im now back in the uk.sick as a pig. my freind who is over in spain said what shall i do. please can anyone help.thanks ray.A 61 year old enthusiast.

sounds like its the 2 hoses into the heater matrix, bit fiddly to get to but cheap to replace.

Just wanna say a BIG thanks to Andy Duff for coming out to help locate my problem. This guy really knows his stuff and is very friendly.

The problem was the crank key had been sheard and the undercrank pully had worked its was loose, therefor shredding all my belts and braking my fan :(

So looks look i'm buying a 60k service kit along with a few parts from Andy. Cheers again mate

You're welcome David :) Never seen anything like that before - that crank must have had a damaged keyway in the first place to be able to shear that woodruff key like that. Post up a picture of it if you can lol
