just found out where my mate got the info it was on the gd old ebay site  heres the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290151765846&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019 you will need to scroll dwn abit to read info :)

i emailed the guy asking if the kit would work on a 300zx and this is his reply:

Hi there, yes it will, allthough your zx will have or should have 2 turbo's they are both T25s a slight difference in the numbers on the turbo's ,this kit fits both, regards stuart.

PS i can supply all the info on how to mark up your turbo,so you wont need to have it rebalanced, and a picture dictorial on rebuilding T25 turbo's and a tech drawing also.

p.s wozza im liking ur offer is it only 1 set you have? im not sure if im after turbos or pcv valves yet

thanx

that works out at £171 plus postage for both sides. suppose thats not bad. problem is, how good are the kits ?. anyone had these.

you dont need to balance them if you mark the orientation of the compressor on the shaft. just remember to put the bevelled circlip on the right way round for the seal plate or it destroys the thrust collar. you can get a good exploded diagram from http://www.melett.com/turbo-parts-catalogue/garrett/Garrett-T2-25-28.pdf

it also goves info on the 360 bearing kit. looks like you have to drill and tap a small thread. but no big deal.

rubbish, have some balls man. if it was balanced before and you put it back on at exactly the same point, how can it no longer be balanced?

whatever

im not going to rise to your crack. you already posted some unconstructive crap on my wanted turbo thread. so if thats the height of your knowledge then id love to hear more.

by the way its "you're"

LOL glad to see my guide coming up again :) as for to balance or not well I am staying out of that one ;)

P.S. the 4 i have done 2 were balanced the other 2 not, and both sets were and still are fine :)

as for cost of kits think it was about 70 quid for 2 stock setup with race spec oil seals. i know the 360's are a touch more.

whatever

ye im the same, ive done 5 now on different cars. ive done about 3 RHB5's and 2 Zed turbos. piece of piss if you have the Torx drives and a small enough torque wrench for the shaft. none of them have ever failed. still going strong. i know a few other members have done the same with no problems at all. i guess if you dont trust yourself to do it properly then send it off to someone who will balance and rebuild them. but its up to yourself at the end of the day.

have some balls? i think wozza has balls to drive down the m4 popping a wheelie on a motorbike at 140+ either that or stupid  ;)

Back on topic if your daft to pull a z engine and refit which ok is not that hard, but lets face it (time consuming!) is it worth not having them balanced?, its ok to try this maybe on an sr20det or similar, just like the project your working on take 20mins to pull the turbo! id rather have peace of mind for the sake of £50 or so than it imploding or causing excessive wear on components! its ok marking components but unless you can spin the turbo at a stupid RPM then you will never know if any lateral/radial play is present from your already possible cock up of a rebuild.

you do what you do! id personally not recomend it gibster bud. Having worked on 300s for the last three years and seen cotastropheys (sorry for spelling fraser) its not worth the bullshit advice :smash:

sorry to butt in but how much are new stock turbo's roughly? I was told few years ago they weren't that expensive, it was just pulling the engine thats the problem.

have a word with nend(from Holland )...i think he had some up for sale .... :)

..

folk can please themselves. wozzer gave his advice.....i gave mine, what folk plan to do with that information or whether or not you consider it "bullshit" is totally up to themselves........

advice is advice calling peeps advice bullshit is harsh, we are never going to agree its personal prefrence. IMO i would balance them as a friend did theres and never balanced them and they didnt last long, but its good to hear some people have do it without balancing and its worked
