i bought a french door from b/q at a stupid price (ex display) but it came with no keys and with it being locked i had to drill the lock open so i need advice from any window/door installers where can i buy a new lock set from ???? the type that runs the full height of the door with the latchers and roller pins. i only need the lock side so are they a standed fitting or do i need the "keep" side as a matching pair

could you not just replace the barrel ? or is it different. any pics ?. on my pvc french doors the barrel can just be replaced.

i would ask greg he is a locksmith!

I'm a window fitter.

You just need to replace the barrell, if you've drilled it, can you

get a screwdriver in there & turn it to operate it?

If so, turn it slightly off-centre, the barrell will then slide out once

you've undone the retaining screw, which runs from the edge of the

door into the lock barrell.

If you still can't get the barrell to work after drilling it, remove the handles

and attach a pair of molegrips to the 20mm or so thats sticking out of the

door, and snap the barrell (very easy, they are very weak where the screw

holds them in), then remove the barrell.

If you've got any pics, put 'em up.

wirral near chester bud

its a shame the locks damaged. i could have also got you a free barrel with keys

Got a feeling our lock's not gonna fit that mate, ours are a lot

'chunkier' than that one, plus you'd probably have to modify the

doors to accept it too, and as they look like woodgrain ones, they will have lots of metal inside them, i'll swag one from the factory tomorrow anyway

and take some pics with some dimensions.

Has the lock got a manufacturer's name on it, could try googling it, they

may do replacements, can b&q help at all?
