Hi Guys,

 

I've just bought a Stage 3 chip from Ebay and the advert said that all I needed was a free flow exhaust and air filter. The same guy then sent me an email later on saying that for best results I need to up the fuel input and increase the injectors but it will run fine on just the filter and zorst as long as I don't boot it too much. Now, (you lot being far more knowledgable than I) is he feeding me some pony and is there a risk of me knackering my engine if I fit this chip with the mods that I have? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like a load of old *****x - a chip is either written for 555's or it isnt

Dont even think about fitting this chip expecially if you dont have enough money for a rebuild when it goes bang, speak to John Dixon and various others for a custom chip.

This imo is the only way to go.

I think you need to know a bit more about that chip. Name of the company that made it etc, would be a good start.

but i only ran 15psi boost.......... " My car is running on standard 7 psi boost so do you think it will be ok?

Its a big risk using an Ebay chip at the best of times, but the seller clearly does'nt know what he is talking about. Bin it and spend some pennies on a Chip from John Dixon, AndyP, DTA or from any of the other specialist zed garages.

 

 

p.s Standard boost is 9.5psi, if your getting 7psi then your in safety boost or have a boost leak - either of which should be fixed before chipping.

Ah - I was only guessing at boost being 7 psi because that is what he told me the standard boost was ( I'm such a novice!) I think I will get a refund from him and leave my car as it is! Cheers for all the advice Guys!
