anyone got one?

Thinking of changing our gas hob for one but unsure how easy they are to cook with

Cleaning/wiping down is obviously a bonus but do they cook well and can you drop the heat as quick as gas?

Cheers

Gas has always been the prefered method for hobs as you have more control over what the heats doing.. Instant heat and instant cool down if needed... Halogen are good but they retain the heat when switched off so the surface of the hob is still hot where as gas isn't... This is why chefs always use gas for the hobs and electric fan assisted ovens for the oven! I would just get a new more up to date gas hob seeing as you've got one there already! Hope this helps!

i have halogen, looks the mutts, almost instant heat!

pros

quick heat

looks good :)

cons

pain to clean at times

stays hot afterwards for a while (small children not a good idea) although a warning light stays on until it cools

if you break it its v.expensive

i love ours though
