Just mulling over a few things for a possible project for next year (not a Z!).

Does anyone know a good source for Rover V8's, either the old 3.5l, 3.9l (or revised 4l) or 4.6l engine's?

Cheers,

Leigh.

Not going to be daft enough to take on another engine conversion myself matey, lol! Looking to source an engine then hand it over to someone else so they can have all the grief! :D ;)

Oddly enough I might know where there's an old 5.0l TVR one lying around that we once put in a westfield. I'll find out for the weekend!

Be carefull Leigh,Rover are good lumps but way underpowered and bits are more expensive than yanks!-my tuppence worth! :)

As it's a Landy have you considered a derv? Might sound daft, but for economy and torque, not a british lump but something from a Jap equivalent..I went in a Range rover of a mate who's dad ran landy specialist in West Wales years ago with what i think was a 2.8 Shogun engine in it.....It was tuned up and good for 130mph plus! and it was relatively economical compared to the original V8 lump that seized in it first!

Yeah, if I'm being honest I don't think I'd use the 3.5. If I'm going down the conversion route I want it to be a noticeable difference! Not looking for lightspeed (it's a heavy old Landy at the end of the day) but to be able to cruise at 75/80 (ish ;)) mph on the Motorway without it shaking itself to pieces would be ideal. Out of interest, what Yank V8's would you recommend for the job? (US lumps are definately not my area! ;))

John mate, that would be superb if you could find out if it's available! Cheers chap!

Definately wouldn't rule out the derv option mate. I believe some go for the Nissan 2.5td, 2.7td (or both in n/a guise), Madza sl35t or Isuzu? Will be looking into the Jap option before commiting! :)

EDIT: Mean't to say that, luckily, as I mainly work from home and don't often travel long distances in the car, fuel economy is not a major issue :D
