1/ Remove two air ducts from right hand intercooler

2/ Loosen bottom radiator hose and drain the coolant.

3/ Disconnect all hoses from radiator (two large, one small)

4/ Under the fan shroud is a flap which can be undone so the shroud clears the fan when you pull it out, loosen this (three snap type fixings)

5/ Loosen two top radiator straps and spin out of the way.

6/ Lift out radiator. :Quote

I'm using the above FAQ to change my radiator but am having some difficulty! :headvswal

My Zed is a Jap import N/A Manual and I've disconnected the top hose, removed the top radiator brackets, removed three of the four shroud retaining screws but:-

1) I can't reach the bottom hose to disconnect it nor the fourth shroud screw

2) I can't find the flap under the fan shroud which should enable the shroud to clear the fan

3) I have the Zed on my drive......must it be jacked up in order to access these items?

Some detailed info would be welcome as it's going to rain soon

Cheers - Dave

yes! airlocks........

Dave, when you refill you need to a few things.

- leave the air release cap off when you refill the rad through the rad cap.

- When you have filled the radiator and happy it is full as possible either raise the front as high as safely possible or take it to a steep incline with the front pointing to the sky. Then remove the rad cap and air release cap and run the engine and top the rad up through the rad cap with your water+coolant mixture. You should see the level drop when the thermostat opens and keeping topping up. If you also stick you heaters on full wack you should be able to flush the air out of the heater matrix too.

- you should keep an eye on the level in your rad for a few weeks and keep it topped up. also remove the air release cap and top up through there if necersery.

- you shouldnt get many air locks in your head or heater matrix if you havent flushed it but the above method is worth doing.

Hope this helps.

Finished putting the radiator in yesterday. I've followed all the advice given and took it for a burn-up........oops I mean run.....and no signs of any leaks or temperature swings so, fingers crossed, all is well.

I know I've said it before but many thanks to all who helped me with this replacement

Cheers - Dave

BTW I am very impressed with the radiator from Advanced Radiators, which as it only cost £77.72 delivered I half expected to have some fitting problems, but it is identical to the Nissan one in every respect so had no unexpected fitting problems at all. Needless to say I highly recommend them.

BTW Is there any use for the old radiator, it seems a shame to scrap it as the core and base are good, it's only the top moulding that has a small 1/2" crack in it. If it's of any use to anyone you can have it for p&p cost.

Cheers again - Dave

I contacted them and they said they do not do one for our Model of Cars. I did ask for a TT one and I know your's was an Na :headvswal

Someone earlier on this thread said they tried to get a TT rad from them but couldn't.

They certainly do a N/A version as I am the proof of that. If it is an N/A version you need, let me know and I will give you ALL the details including Advanced Radiator's reference No. for this rad.

Cheers - Dave
