Further to my thread rE: bumper protection my first day back into my 'home' office after a while away sees the new mountain of a speed ramp rip the right side of my rear bumper away from the car! It's had a few bangs in the past, but this time I see two bolts and some sheared metal. I've tried to knock it back into place but to no avail!

Can anyone refer me to a good place to get this sorted that won't rip me off..? I have no idea how much these things should cost to fix...fingers crossed!!

Also, is it safe to still commute in this vehicle? The bumper isn't flailing but is clearly not aligned with the body of the car!!

Lookin for a speedy turnaround on this one if poss guys! Also...if any of you might be able to help personally I'd be more than happy to part with cash!

Not reading but I have a guy near fleet re-spraying my 944, doing a cracking job and he seems to do a fair bit of bodywork. Could be worth a call if half hours drive ain't too far for ya

Bit of a drive as I'm not sure if my bumper will allow safe driving that much but will give them a call! Cheers for the tip!

Hey dude,

Good luck getting the bumper fixed! there's a place down Cardiff Rd that does repairs / body - they'll try to rip you off tho, I ended up going DIY :-(

So you're one of the Reading Zeds then. I've recently joined that exclusive club. Saw you and the missus in your Zed the other day I reckon - last Thurs. Looked crazy-low!

I've got another red one, but with some 'distinctive' (hey - they're not THAT bad!) white wheels ;-)

If you know of anywhere that can fit some front brakes in the Reading area I would be muchos grateful! I've currently got a lovely Zed + boost controller (i.e. lots of GO), but my method of stopping is pulling very hard on the e-brake! Trying to get some brakes ordered and fitted, but you'd have thought I was trying to order moondust from monkeys! What's with these so-called Zed Specialists!!!?!??

C'ya local hopefully!

haha...cheers for the offer Greg...post some details if you can but at the moment I've been in contact with a few I found of ye olde yell.com so will see what they say. If it seems ridiculous, may well give your guy a call!!

Pricey - my missus was around but not til the Friday so might have been another Zed with a gorgeous looking occupant...and his missus! lol...can't remember seeing you around. Whereabouts are you? I'm in the Basingstoke/Northumberland Raod area. Maybe see you at the next Reading meet? As for the brake fitting, I have no idea I'm afraid! I'm only a few mths (5) into owning my Zed and am not a Reading local to boot!! But...a tip which may be worth checking out is...head down to one of the specialist car audio shops..there's a few around if you need details...but they seem to know more about modified car services than anyone else and usually refer you to good poeple...I hope anyways! That's how I've found the bodyshop!
