Is Wozzer a mechanic?

How would i contact him?

wozzer is a subscribed member and isnt supported by the forum as a trader as he hasn't paid the advertising fees.

no reflection on his work just rules of the forum.

Hehe.

BAsically, after i brought the car round to my in-laws, my father-in-law (who used to be a mechanic back in the sixties) had a look at it and says it makes a faint tapping sound when idling. This is something to do with tappets?

Should i be worried about that? Could it be expensive?

All seems to work fine other than that though.

Give it a full engine flush and oil/filter change and it should fix the problem. It certainly improved mine but you still need the hydraulic lifters servicing if it continues after that.

Filter changes i am fine with, but how do i do an engine flush?

This is where there is a problem. Perhaps we need an area for recommended garages by members. At the moment there is only one trader, SWZ, that does mechanical stuff. Unfortunatly they are down south and not in the middle of the country so unaccesible to many of the members.

I feel that I can't recommend a mechanic who is also a member of the forum for fear of the wrath of the committe (he says tounge in check).

Would appreciate the benefit of someone's knowledge...
