Hi all,

Getting going doing some more work on the car. The rev speed meter is reading high, the turbo timer doesn't work, and the handbrake light is always on which I want to fix today.

I don't think it's low brake fluid, I have disconnected the switch from the lead and it is pemanently earthing (the lead that runs to the switch that is). So that'll be why my handbrake light is always on and turbo timer isn't working then? But the wire runs into a nice protected sheath and into the dash, I've traced it to the centre console and it all looks fine. If my brake fluid was low it wouldn't be earthing it on the other end would it? Sounds like a bizarre system...

Any ideas why my turbo timer would be reading high? It might be right, but my dash rev counter reads lower and to my ears sounds the right revs. I'd have thought the rev speed meter would either work or it wouldn't. I'm going to check the wiring into the ECU loom but it's still odd.

Also does anyone have some dimensions for an Apexi AVCR please? I want to mount one in the centre console and could do with knowing what space I'll need.

Cheers

I'm a muppet.

If you look, the colour of the cable for the handbrake switch, and the brake fluid level warning lead, are both yellow with purple and a silver line. I disconnected (the filthy) brake level switch and problem solved. So I need to fix it from the engine bay end.

Yay I can put the interior back together. On to my next job :)

Ok next up, any ideas why I get no power to my cigarette lighter, the light doesn't appear to work, and I also have a second blue coloured light (I don't think this works) that's just hidden underneath the centre console and appears to have no purpose?

I'll be an expert on these eventually :)

Yer tried that, still didn't work though :) I will try it again later when I'm driving in case I was having a funny five though, might be the alarm or something.

Here's another, these two bits sorta just dropped out when I was chasing a wire, presumably they have a home, where do they go please? I guess the one with the big pipe somehow joins the pipe that heats your feat (or beside your leg rather).
