Can you really be bothered to read this?

Lately my injured arm has been getting worse. As a result I am struggling to ride my bike as it causes too much pain. (poor sod). Anyway as its less than a year old and dont get ridden I need to sell it and have done with it. Sad but necessary. Anyway, Its on finance with black horse not HP but it still shows on the HPI register. I phoned them and asked if I could sell it. They said yes because it isnt HP but I would have to pay up with them. Ok thats fair. I told them my circumstances and they listened. But! they wont shift it off the HPI until I have paid them. there is still £3600 owing and I would only get about £3000 for it. NP they said I could still owe them and they would remove it from the register having been paid that much off. The problem is this I said. I cant sell it to pay you if its on the HPI. No she said all you need to do is promise the buyer that you will pay us and then when they pay you, you pay us. ??? Yeah OK I bet they will trust me seeing as I am an honest man

Is this what people refer to as a viscious circle?

She then went on to say that I should do it properly and not try to aviod paying them. "Well" I said. Isnt that what I am trying to do?

it just dosent make any sense. They have no right to re-possess she told me that on the phone. So why then wont you remove it from the HPI. Because its policy?

Does my head in. I cant win. So its got to remain outside the house rotting away until I have paid or found someone to trust me.

I aint asking just telling. :D

can't you get a credit card with interest free for 6 months and transfer the balance then the bike will be paid off in there eyes you have interest free on the amount and when you sell the bike pay off the balance and then cancel the card?

Just put it up for sale and explain to any potential buyers. You never know someone may believe you. They may not even check the HPI.

Failing that the above plan is a cunning one.

I will let you know mate. Thanks. ;)

One small thing to note with an interest free creidt card is that there is usually a transfer fee ot 2-3% of the balance that you have to pay to move your money. Some cards don't do this fee but the 0% period is much shorter. Virgin are doing 15 months 0% at the mo'!

A list of some of the cards and their current offers can be found here. I'm sure there are some fee free offers out there somewhere...
