Going to change oil and filter shortly so while i'm under the car i thought i will do the fan belt, power steering belt, etc while i'm there..

Phones Nissan (now evans halshaw) to check availability and order belts..

No problem sir... what model z32 blah blah..Oh its an import, he says ! i will need the chassis No and paying up front before i order ( even though i work for Nissan) So i say i will get chassis No and come down and pay..

Gets there and the fookin idiot goes away and comes back Oh i need the model number as well ( which i didn't have )

Anyway come home and ring in Model number to him, 5 mins later he comes back and says power steering belt is on back order and he cannot tell me how long it will take to get it...some help that is.. and he will need paying before he ordered them..

So fook it i am not trailing back down .. any traders online that sell these ?

1990 TT Auto, jap import, Alt, power, air con belts (prices and postage) if possible.. Cheers

What's the point of a Nissan dealer if they can't supply a simple service item ?

Hi Elmo,

I have a few full sets of belts for both JDM and UK-spec cars on order - will be with me just after the weekend. If it's any use to you I can reserve you a set.

Regards,

Dan

PS - I'm assuming you're not running an under drive crank pulley ...

Evans Lolshaw. Is that the old Reg Vardy dealer on Cargo Fleet roundabout?

"ALSO SEVERLY DILLUSIONAL" :D ;)

hi Elmo, in 8 years of z ownership i have found nissan to be the most unhelpful , expensive and downright stupid , even down to simple things like wheel nuts.As said Mike feeney (the legend himself) is your only man ;)

Try Glyn Hopkins. I used to work for them and never had a problem sourcing parts

I was after a pulley for the air-con compresser and a couple of bits, Nissan dealer over here quoted me £250 and "about 3 to 4 weeks", my mate got on to Nissan in Japland and they quoted me 5-7 days and turned out at £180 incl tax etc !

Hi Dave,

I'll put the prices up later this afternoon (not at my own desk at the moment) and will respond to your PM as well.

Dan

Don't put your prices up Dan!!!...We need discounts, more discounts!!!!

I used to work for Baileys in Canterbury, Kent. In the mid 90's The parts and service department very quickly cottend on to the fact that Imports were in fact not that diffrent from Uk stuff and we could work on them and get parts and so generate money. They are very helpful if you want genuine stuff and use'd to offer a discount for Zed club members. I've just bought a Fuel filter, Auto box sump kit and the brake servo vac pipes, all were got over night and available next with discount!!!!

I remember in 94 doing all the conversions on a rather odd, basic Skyline to comply with UK regs and it went from there.

they still supply stuff to a couple of local guys who are big locally on Imports.

Worth a call if you this end of Kent.

LOL :D :mac1: I can see how my previous post could have cast me in a particularly greedy, captalistic light ...

Not to worry, discounts are coming the club's way very soon.

As for the belt prices ... won't know how much they cost me until I get the invoice (Monday/Tuesday) and will post up then.

JJ Motors in Crosshands, parts dept are totally *********** & refused to order parts for an import.

So i have used traders on this club that are not only cheaper but far quicker :)

Thanks for the reply's guys,

It doesn't help when the parts department is tucked away out sight at this particular Nissan dealers..so you have to put your faith in the guy doing the ordering..

I had problems with same dealers for a Primera exhaust section ( dealer part only) theres only 2 versions and about a foot difference between the 2 and guess which one he ordered... the wrong one..

But personaly i think they guy has no interest in his job and provides the minimum effort to get thru the day... think i need to find a better dealer.. any suggestion's north east lad's.. ?

Hi,

As promised, I can now state the prices for stock pulley belt kits (Alt/Powersteering/Aircon):

JDM TT (

UK TT (

Postage will be £3 via recorded delivery

Prices for cars built after 1994 and NA's will follow as soon as I get the invoice for those belts.

Regards,

Dan
