the situation: at the back of my parents garden is an area of land that currently contains my workshop, an open patch of ground used for parking and a very old single bay garage, also used for paking. Country wide came along and developed the land around then and now one poor sod has to look out onto the eyesore of our garage and compond every day. Although the guy is a total @rsehole, he's wealthy and has offered to pay for a completely new garage to house the cars as long as we agree to take down the existing one. There are other issues involved like a change of access rights so it's not as cut and dried as all that (and also why we've taken legal advice on the matter) BUT here's my question:

He's offered them a two door, two bay garage. They've decided that they'd like a three bay garage that runs more or less the width of our property (which is 9m wide), that can fit a vehicle that is 2.6m high, that has no walls dividing the bays so the garage area is kept open plan, has skylights and that has just one garage door, almost as wide as the garage itself. Are there any builders or people in the trade that know if this kind of design is possible?

Cheers,

Leigh

Wow, cheers mate that sounds great, much appreciated! Wouldn't want to trouble you for too much but a few pointers would be perfect, like if there are pre-fab esque options available or if it would have to be custom built etc.

Cheers! :)

One of my mates had a concrete prefab sectional garage built, all he had to do was lay a concrete slab and the garage guys did the rest. I was there, they turned up on the morning and less than a day later he had a nice large double garage on his property. I can speak to him if you require, I think they will make a garage any size you want.

If the other guy's paying, I'd opt for a propper brick built garage. It'll look the business & bricks could be selected to match those of the house. This may also increase the overall value of the property.
