It's time to make a start to try and arrange regular meetings, weve been a bit lax north of the border in the past, time to make amends.

 

To be fair to everyone rather than just going ahead and setting meeting dates and locations. I thought I'd put it to a discussion first, that way we can arrange things to suit the majority and possibly work in a couple of gatherings to help out those who live further away or work different hours.

 

I've listed some ideas to get things started, add your own ideas and thoughts ( keep them sensible please).

 

What intervals .

1. Every month.

2. Every couple of months.

3. As and when somebody can be bothered to arrange one.

4. Never.

 

What Location.

 

1. Same place every time central location.

2. Different location each time but still in a central location.

3. Different locations each time

 

When .

 

1. Weekday night

2. Saturday

3. Sunday

4. Varied

 

If you want I can start polls, but thought it better to get some ideas from you all first.

 

Remember this is a club and everyone can have their say, so if you want involved get involved, sure we wont be able to suit everyone with regards to times and locations but will try to compromise as best we can.

What he said but can't really do Sundays as the other half works every Sunday, which would mean bringing the kids. Not a good idea I can assure you!

I work overseas and am only in the UK for 3 months a year so cant really comment as to the best intervals.

Once again because when I back home I am on holiday anytime suits me

lots of good points guys, and hopefully we will get others opinions to gain a balanced idea of what everyone up here wants.

 

I personally think monthly meets are a bit too much for the further travelled, and the older heads, its been 20 years since I used to hang out in the local boy racer haunts!! and to be honest......... No ****it have any of you noticed the amount of tidy girl racers , we should have weekly meets ;) .

 

To be honest though I'd rather be driving the Z than sitting in a car park, so with this in mind hopefully we can arrange some runs, I've got some ideas but unfortunately its gonna be next year before i'm back on the road.

i'm pretty much available most of the time. But i think varied locations would be the best idea. This way we all get the fun of a leisurely drive in our beloved machines!!!!

I think a set date could have its advantages and disadvantages.....i.e. it would mean that people would know when it is on.......but it could also mean that people miss it all the time due to work commitments!

 

Just an idea.......i stole this from livicruise.co.uk........They have like a meet (in a car park) every couple of months and the months in between....they meet in a pub for a meal and a bit of banter?????? dunno if many folk would be up for that, but it's just an idea!

I cover the 24hr recovery truck every third weekend, so some dates might suit, might not, it all depends.

 

Weekends are fine by me, as well as through the week as well.

 

Location will always be the stumbling block I reckon.

Deffo different locations I would think, althouigh thats more hassle for you !

 

Every couple of months, especially over the winter when "normal" folks put them off the road for upgrades etc. Should add that mine is just back on the road yesterday, and thats from May ! :smw:

Ok I'm going to leave the thread open for a couple of weeks, as its holiday time there could be a few people away who would want a little input into this. That will take us to around the time of the Chatelherault show, I will discuss with the members who attend then post up the plans for future meetings.

Everybody should now have seen this and had their chance to add any more suggestions. Most seem to agree that every couple of months is enough so we will go with that for starters, I will look to organise something towards the end of this month.

hmmmm.....good call!!! I'm hopefully getting a new zed :hyper: at the end of the month, so i'll more than likely be able to make whatever arangements are made!!! :nana2:
