Lots of Q's, exhaust, cruise, funny binging noise??

Hi Guys,

I bought my Zed 3 years ago from the dock side (straight from Japan)with a knackered engine (head gasket), wife, kids, divorce have meant that it took me 3 years to rebuild the engine.(without the wife would of taken a week!) Finally got it running in January. Its 1990 TT auto and has cruise/A/C etc. So, history over, heres where I hope you can help.

Firstly..... I want to Decat it but can only seem to find one kit on ebay and this kit does away with the EGR, I'm thinking EGR there for a reason or can you just leave it hanging?(so to speak)

Secondly, the cruise control doesn't work over, what seems to be, 65/70 mph,is this due to japanese speed laws??? and how do I over come it?

Thirdly, connected to Q2,there is this faint Bonging/Binging noise at around the same speed which I believe must also be due to speed laws, where do I find this Bonging thing and can I just remove it?

Thanks in advance Guys,

Jase

the bonging noise is the audible speed warning, your going too fast for Japanese roads! mine starts at 63 mph, i just turn the radio up.

i replaced the zorst (manifold back) with one from Luke, and either cut back the gubbins or secured it out of the way.

search for speed chime to disable it

search for AIV's on how they can be removed when decatting.

no idea about the cruise control, again search in case it's been covered before

You can replace a resistor to get the cruise working at UK speeds.

Do a search ;)
