you just want the free laptop :hyper:

not sure how good or not it is though..... worth a shot ;)

customer service in India is feckin apaling. the "Live box" needs to be rebooted at least once a week. Not very happy with them at all.

maybe thats why they are giving away laptops .... need more customers! :smw:

ive been using them for ages and although the data service is pretty steady and consistant, their customer service is absolute wnak. i waited in a queue for 70 minutes once to complain that i was still paying for my mobile and b/b accounts seperately when they were supposed to have put me on a plan when they're combined and the b/b is free. i signed up for that in Nov 2006 and guess what. it's still not sorted. i also paid £20 up front to get 8meg earlier. over the weeks the connection speed has gradually dropped - its currently 6.4megs which, yes, is enough for my needs, but thats not the point. for a long time ive been paying for a service which ive not been getting.

after all that, am i happy with them? well, not extatic but they'll do for now

Ive got the free broadband and livebox, touch wood no more problems than i had with BT.

My daughter used to work for them in Mexborough, where there are three thousand staff in one factory unit working from seven until ten. They are all educated in the art of deception, so beware. Also they only have ten technical staff in the whole building, the rest are disscussion experts???????? Technical calls are charged at premium rate, so you pay to wait and for advise.

Any problem I've had with mine so far has been sorted. The only real downside is that from about 4:30 PM until about 11 to 12 PM the connection is crap. Very, very slow indeed, in fact at times I'm sure dial-up is faster!!

I've had mine since February, and I'm only 1/2 mile from the exchange, so I should be able to obtain 8 Mg but I'd be lucky if I receive anything above 6Mg at the absolute maximum!

Stay well clear of this lot and remember you get nothing for "free". The laptop is probably a refurbished reject.

had similar reports from my mate, he gave up with them & went with Pipex who im with. you get what you pay for! if its free then dont expect too much LOL! I would rather pay for a reliable service :)

I've been with them since they took over from Wanadoo

No problems what so ever

I was with Wanadoo and quite happy until Orange swallowed them up. We had no internet access for nearly 6 weeks at the beginning of the year and not once could they give us a reason why. Spoke to about a dozen different people in India and UK and kept getting fobbed off. In the end we cancelled and went with Sky as it was free for us as we have Sky TV. That has been 100% so far and I'm very pleased.

We did get £60 compensation (eventually) after the wife ripped a customer services manager to bits over the phone. No apology or explanation was ever given though.

STEER WELL CLEAR!!!

Im with Orange, no problems in 4months. Helped me set it all up as well. 800kb/s download rates as well. Not to mention free phone calls from the phone in my room. And Its wireless, use my phone/pda and laptop on it as well. Very impressed saying it is all for £5 a month.

Zen Broadband is the only one to go for, they are the most expensive but it never crashes and doesnt slow down in the evenings and also their customer service is superb !

I was a wanado at home and that was crap and Orange is even worse. + Because I was an original Wanado Broad Band customer and of course now that broadband speed is much quicker they give all there long standing customers the quicker band speed. Like Fook they do. If I want 3meg or above I have to pay £21 per month, yey if I'm a new customer I can have that for £17.

No I'm going for either sky of Virgin. £21 per month + sky TV and £27 permonth with sky sports and as fast as you can recieve dependant on cables and exchange.

Its a real nasty laptop and a real nasty little deal they are offering.
