Hi, i am putting the last few bits back on my engine (hoses etc.) before it goes back in the car, i have had it out to do the turbos, now my question is that the vac pipes from the wategates go into the plumming which runs round the engine however not far above the tubs is a small solenoid which has a vac pipe from the big pipe going to the turbos, now there is a pipe joined into the wastegate vac pipes that is obviously supposed to go to the other side of the solenoid, the PO has removed them and bunged them up with bolts, any ideas why he would do this??, would this account for my turbo shaft snapping in half? and how would i test the solenoids work before i put the engine back, they look a horrible job to do after!!! is it just 12v to the pins and listen for a click? are they likley to go faulty?
phew!! thanks in advance!!
