Manual conversion? :D

One of the problems with autos is the seals can and do go hard over time, a good additive can soften these and the box can work quite again.

Some on here dont like them, and if I had a new/good auto I too may steer away, but if your box is "tired" they can help. Us a "Named" one..

Years ago I used to put half a liter of thinners in old Ford boxes that had lost top gear, worked a treat.

 Does anyone know of any?

To be honest the best thing is to do regular oil changes, every 5 to 6k miles, use the best oil you can afford, after i had a box go some years back on a Z i had it rebuilt and used Lucas Racing ATF,was informed by the fitter its the best, will out perfom any other,NRHA Drag Racers use it,so i had it put in,never had a prob after or since using it on 3 other Auto Zs,it mixes with all ATF oils too.Just so happens that yesterday i changed the oil on my Shogun(Auto)as the changes were getting fierce, now its like new,and this is on a 1990 Mk1 V6 petrol Mitsi, the Lucas ATF in my book is the best i have used.

Tony :)
