Hi there Can anyone help. I have 1990 Zed twin turbo that I bought from importers with head gasket gone. I have totally rebuilt it and it runs a treat. The problem is that on heavy acceleration it starts to hesitate and hold back. If you plant the peddle gently it will creep up ok but not great.

If you whack the A/C on its even worse!?!

No horrible smoke or noises though.

I have noticed that the return fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail looks new, but when I tested it with a vaccum gauge it doesn't do anything!

Could this be the problem? Or is there another explaination? Def think its Fuel related.

Please help supposed to be cruising to Spain in it in September.

thanks in advance,

Jase

Timing could be slightly out if you have just done the Head Gaskets. Its possible it could be the Fuel pressure regulator, as it should keep the pressure at around 43psi depending on injector pulse duration but if there is excessive fuel pressure then a valve opens and sends the excess fuel back to the tank. Also you wont get the pulse duration at the correct time if timing is out.

Firstly try cleaning the ECU Temp sender

you could also do a search as this subject has been coverd a lot lately, good luck
