Just been reading the Buyers guide, the wrong side of purchase. Just wondering what places, near the Midlands could carry out the Compression checks, ECU check and other ancilliary checks that are recommended?

 

I want to have the car perfect before winter regardless of cost.

The ECU check you can do yourself following this link click A compression tester can be purchased, they arnt expensive and that you can do yourself too. The rest i wouldnt worry too much about if the car is running fine but im sure a local member will have a look for you if you asked, they might even have a compression tester for your piece of mind. See how you get on with the ECU check. And to be honest the best way to learn about these cars is to do what you can yourself. And you might want to do yourself a huge favor and subscribe, it will be the best 20 quid you will spend, trust me, and you will get access to the whole site and traders section too :D

Allen at autotech in belper sells compression testers for 23 quid, I'm gonna get one at some point as mine is broke.
