Yes you can but it is a right barsteward, patience is the key. Speak to Greg, he's probably done a few of them.

i took my dash off 3 times in the past, it's not a big job and save you laying on your back with ya head under the dash for hrs

also if you use the nissan primira matrix you have to mod the box a bit as it's 2mm thicker, but as it's only about £70 for a new copper core one that wont corrode like the 300 it's worth it

i got a brand new one to go in and the old one lasted 17 years so i think it should be ok!
