Ok,

A week gone friday i got a phone call at work from officer paul Mann asking if a i owed a certain bike? (mine obviously)

I say yes and he tells me its been found in some bushes at barnes park

So now its been taken to a garage

It will now cost me £105 to get the garage to release it plus if i want them to drop it off back at mine or whatever it'll be another £35 FFS.

I need a bit of help as i want to fix it.

Basically the main damage seems to be the ignition barrell, its completely fooked and needs replacing, there is also some cut wires beneath it so i would assume i need the wiring loom too.

The seat has a rip in it, The bar stewards even took an L plate, the wing mirrors and 3 of the fuses (they left 1 for some reason)

The disk lock that was under the seat has gone along with the bike tools (the little thing that comes with the bike)

Can anyone help by telling me where i might get a new ignition?

Oh and its a Cagiva Planet 125 on an 'X' reg

Anyway, i now have the bike back and cleaned out the garage to put the bike in and i have a few things people might or my not want . . . see the for sale section shortly when i manage to put the suff up

Lee... try the likes of Hunters up westgate road... there is other breakers up there as well

I got an pattern ignition from ebay for my TL, plugs straight in, £30. Dunno if you can find one for your Cagiva?

It's a bloody disgrace that they charge you to get your own stolen bike back!

Couldn't they have asked you whether you wanted to go and collect it first?

The police normally arrange to have the vehicle took away for fingerprinting.. or so they say cos you never hear of any arrests made... and i dont know why they can't let you recover your vehicle to your home in the first place, and have it fingerprinted at your home ?

hope you get it sorted. You are the unluckiest bloke i have ever known lol

my thoughts poor bird  ;)

I had my fzr1000 nicked last year so feel for ya bud

Had to pay the same as you to get it back, imho the garages are as bad as the crooks cos they know you want your stuff back so they charge what they like, fookin robbing barstewards.

Hope you get it all sorted bud, btw I got a replacement barrel from ebay for under £30.

They could always leave it where it was found to get burnt out or further damaged and would it be nice if the recovery company worked for free!

Or they could have asked him what he wanted to do with it first...

the police are suppost to pay for the storage of vehicles if they ask the garage to recover them. We had a contract with south wales police and it was always them whom had to pay

thanks for all the comments guys,

yes it was insured however its not worth me claiming because im hoping to get a 600 soon ill i would only pay more than what its costing me get it sorted if i had a theft claim on there.

Ive looked under cagiva etc and the ignition with wires so far has not been found and seems to be a dealer only part and cost pennies shy of £160

The Garage fee was £105 (aparently a standard fee)

for them to deliver it back to me it was £35

If i left it there its another £6 per day (which the garage let me off with)

I had to have it delivered back as the thing can't be started.

The police did try my house to see if anyone was in and would have just dropped it off here however i was at work so they had to have it recovered (i couldn't answer my phone at work)
