So im trying to get hold off duffers to see if he knows which one ive got, seen them going for a tenner so not exspensive.

MJP might get them new in the traders forum.

Cheers for the heads up, just need to get soem ramps now

The actual speed sensor's position on the car is here:-

I still have BigMincey's - it owes me £30 I think.

If his is the kind you need let me know.

I had eventually to get mine out a scrap yard - cost £55

Also it is one screw / 12mm bolt to get it out.

Mine came out with just the car jacked up and I didn't have to move the exhaust at all.

I did go and buy axle stands after I got the thing out.......fear of a car this low to the ground falling on top of me got the better of me!!

After reading your posts ill try and get the car up this weekend and make sure im getting the right one.

Its a bit hard trying to gauge the sizes by the pics but once ive got mine off ill get a pic and post it up here to see if you can tell if they are similar.

Thanks a million fella  be speaking to you soon unless the jack gives way :(

be careful!!

What taking the pictures!!!!!!!

I might try and take it up a garage i use for tyres and see if they will let me use there ramps. Can it drive without it in or is that a stupid question?

Otherwise ill have to take a few pics and then stick it back in untill i grab yours if they are the same.

....I didn't drive mine as there was a tiny amount of oil came out with it and it has a rubber seal round it. I don't know if you can drive it but I just felt it would be safer not to.

Why don't you take the camera with you, up on the ramps it will be a 10 min job. Screw out - slide out sensor - take a photo - put sensor back in.

It is sometimes the connector. The sensor comes out of the gearbox, then there is a (black) wire connected to it (with a big plastic clip attatching it to the sensor itself), it normally loops up first (away from you) it is about 8 - 12 inches long and has a clip type connector attached to it. see here -

JUST NOTICED ONE THING - Yours maybe slightly different from the pictures though.........Mine is an AUTO..............

AND I ..dunno what gearbox the speed sensor is from bigmincey.

If you want you could PM me your address I'll post you the sensor - if its the wrong one just send it back to me.

Cheers,

Michael.

Once its out post the pics up anyway....

Like I said - the one I have from bigmincey - the one with the ORANGE gear on it.......I don't know what it came out of......i'll PM him and see.......
