If I were to sell my z how much should it make, roughly? I ahve no idea and need some advice...

Import 2+2 TT on G plate, targa top. Gunmetal grey.

Stage one turbos, de-cat pipes and cat back stainless powerflow exhaust.

S-type Exedy clutch plate, new clutch master and slave cylinders.

HKS super blow-offs, KandN induction. It is laggy but VERY VERY fast.

Turbo timer

19" ultralite 757-evolve wheels with good tyres.

Front and side veilside replica kit(but fitted and sprayed professionally in the last year or so.

Mounteny steering wheel

Lowered(though was lowered when imported so dont know what was done.)

roughly 90,000 miles on clock and it had a full service when it was imported about two and a half years ago where the belts were done. (done about 10,000 miles since.)

All my receipts and proof of import. No service from before import though.

General condition is very good, no visible rust that I know of and no obvious chips, one very shallow-hardly-noticable-unless-under-very-bright-streetlight-on-dark-night dent in side.

Leather interior, good condition inside, no rips, but starting to show age.

At present running perfectly, apart from HICAS light always on but then its done that for two years!!!

Downside is no spare wheel and VERY loud exhaust.

Is £7000 too much?????? Probably wont sell just yet but want a rough idea of price.

Is £7k too much for a Z??? Sorry but an emphatic YES!!! IMO no matter what mods you will be hard pushed to get any more than £4k. Sorry but I'm trying to be as honest as possible...

id be lucky to 6k for mine and its a wide arse

Yeah you could say that! ;) As I said, ANY Z that goes for more than £4k has a very very lucky ex owner lol

Damn, the truth hurts. Just spent nearly half that on the tubs, and twice that on petrol in the last month. ha ha ha.

thats the problem with modifying old cars, its dead money, hence why im considering scrapping my project and putting the cash into a house.

At the end of the day its a 16 year old Nissan and not a car people are falling over each other to get, not saying that isnt a shame, but its something folk need to accept when throwing money at their cars.

Wish i had never bothered with my sack of crap in all honesty

Said the chav

you got to keep the faith ..i too was once a non-zedder but i saw the light ok they might not be as many zed fans as say honda civic fans and i know stuff for my zed is expensive its not cheap to run it smells weird the exhausts are too loud and it needs loads doing to it but tbh is there anything else like it on our roads today

I do love the car, dont get me wrong, its a 911 killer on the motorway and I love the way people have spent £30,000 upwards on 'sports' cars and my G-plater goes past them with ease, I never expected to make money back but I was kinda hoping for more, that wont even halve my credit card bill!

Still makes me smile every time I drive it though!

Okay, dont punch me, but I have looked about on auto tader and I am thinking of trading down to an impreza, they are only about 2500 for the turbo ones and you can get an R or S reg for that. Are they a bit more reliable? I have not wanted one since I was 15, like the zed, but lifes s**t like that.

reliable dunno, coomon as dog muck though and most at the bottom end of the market have been trashed by chavs imho

VERY weak block but at the end of the day its up to you

If you can find an R or an S reg that's been driven like a saint then fair play. Chances are though it will of been driven like a :xxx: Many of the earlier Subarus suffered with a weak block as Andy has mentioned. You'll see many advertised as having had new engines from 45k onwards. So if you buy a thrashed example with less than this on it's first engine you take your chances. Don't get me wrong I love the Impreza, in fact I own one but if you've got a Z you like and you're going to trade down to such an old Impreza I'd stick with the Z. You're only going to end up with £1500 in your sky rocket anyway.

Okay, I am going off of the impreza, going to look at an M reg 2.0i prelude(one with square headlights) tomo - BORING! Its only about two grand though. I still reckon I can get at least £2500 for my zed, its just had two grands worth of turbos put in and five hundred quids worth of uprated clutch bits and is not very far off of mint condition. I would only have to take a buyer out in it once and they would be hooked, I hope!

Maybe I will hang onto the zed for a bit longer...

Well its nice to see you trying to sell the car as apposed to breaking, it like so many members seem to be doing now days.

If the car is sound as it sounds hang out for a higher price, when i was looking 5yrs+ ago you could only buy crap cars if you had 5k in your pocket.

All the best with whichever way you decide to go.

Regards

Dave
