Never seen the film Dave but you're right, the book is superb.

Gota say, the film does not do the book justice, at all! But then it would of been difficult to do it the way it was written.

As far as I remember, they had a lot of trouble making the film. Made it in Czechoslovakia, but it didn't go down too well, with the locals, when they hung the Swastika Standards on various buildings etc!!
