i got some bad news. i was involved in an accident at 2am this morning; some pedestrians ran across the road and i swerved out of the way to avoid them, and i went into a roadside barrier. i had the car transported to a damage repair specialist i know of...

 

to think the amount of money i spent on the car in the past year... and it may now get written off. atleast no one got hurt i guess... what can ya do eh...

very true with the original 99 spec front lights that would be very cool! part of me wants another zx 1997 model, but part of me says i've done the 'zx' thing...

 

If your going to have a break from the Zeds I'd go for a Honda S2000 has better power to weight ratio than the Zed, handles like a dream, ultra reliable ,but lacks the presance of the 300. don't go for a lardy Skyline though please.

mark tbh that was my first choice, but for some reason insurance is really high on them! maybe because it wasnt actually mass produced, honda parts are expensive? grp 20... 350z is a lot cheaper on insurance though.

Neweara can import you a nice 2003 S2000 for about £10K and the group 20 is I suppose thats reflective of it's power to weight ratio. Which is much greater than the 350z. + I don't think any performance car is cheap on parts, but the S2000 is renowned for it's reliability.

Main reason for high insurance is the rag top.

Would have been less damage to the Z. Limbs break and shatter, crash barriers don't.....lol

Man or beast if they cross the road they need to look. I will do my best to break under controle if they get hit tough shit they will look next time if they can walk....... ;) The zed is worth more than some dick who can't cross the road without looking.

i was pretty shaken once the accident actually happened, i was probably in the car for about 1 to 2 minutes before getting out, and the pedestrians had ran away. there were no witnesses either, and the car was pretty much blocking one lane so i couldnt exactly leave it there and look for the fookers...

 

the cops were pretty understanding and helpful (once I showed them my press card), and after taking statements etc they didnt even give me a producer.

 

i'm hoping so badly that this isnt a writeoff... if it is i'll buy the car back and probably sort it all out myself.

one thing's for sure, this slk 230 kompressor i'm using is a nice well built classy car, but its NO FUN AT ALL! it just encourages me to buy something more exciting the more i drive it!
