o2 sensors

Ok, it's MOT time and i think it'll fail on the emissions, because of the overfuelling......

After learning that the previous owner run a conzult and came bk with code 55 (which i believe is no faults), he thinks that the problem could lie with the o2 sensor(s) (not too sure on if there is one or two).

I was just wondering if anyone knows where i could get my hands on them, preferably without going straight to nissan!!!

Cheers for any help!!!

Speak to Mike at MJP in the traders section on here.

He does most Nissan parts cheaper but they're still not exactly cheap to change a pair just at a guess.

I'd get someone to test them out first.

see, i would.......but im working away from home just now and i was going to see if i could get it put in for an mot and find out what it fails on!

Have you any idea if they're a pain in the a**e to get to....i.e. to replace them myself????

can be a real pig to get out, trust me. got a feeling you can get a specific tool for the job, suppose it depends how confident you are with the spanners and how much patients you have before the gas axe comes out.

You need a crows foot wrench or a proper sensor removal tool and they are a real pain to get to.

Also they are usually well and truly stuck from all the heat.

Just sticking it in for an MOT isn't going to tell you what caused the failure.

If you already know it's failed an emissions test then that's all they will tell you again at MOT - they don't go into what the fault is so you're wasting your money IMO.

so, your saying that i shouldnt b putting it in for an mot because i already know about the emissions????

See, the thing is though, when i first asked for help about the overfuelling on here, people told me that the emissions are negligable on a car made before 1992 (Cat Converter Regulations) so i'm not too sure if the mot tester will let it slide, or fail it anyway!
