aye i thought that, old man had a lotus 7 and would love something like that but havent a garage so...no chance! saw a 3.9 v8 westfield on pistonheads the other day, i would love that!!

Only 2 real replacements for my Z.

Been looking at Ferrari 348s and Honda NSXs. Hopefully the year after next if I'm still in the country.

i must admit i do love the NSX too but the main reason why i prob wont get one is age. i want something a few years newer. i must have a drive, i think i could be persuaded otherwise though

Well I've just bought another Zed after going shopping for something sensible but nippy for a daily drive (well the Zed is nippy!). I was going to get another 5 series BMW but a newer than my old one but couldn't resist the Zed again :hyper: My Rx7 is way to extreme to drive every day to work so I need to run another car for a daily drive. For a Zed replacement perhaps the NSX, I've always liked them.

I The only things I can think of that would replace the rex would be a Porker GT3 or something similar which are way way out of my budget for a (hopefully not so long!) little while yet. I guess alternatives that I've considered are more practical track cars such as a Caterham 7 or an Elise, but I find it hard to let go of the raw power plus the Rex is a nice medium between road car and track beast whereas the Cat 7 is pure track. I went out in an Elise at an airfield day and it was definately great fun chucking it around, not as much adrenelin as the Rex or Zed at very high speeds though.

The way I look at it, for my budget the Zed is one of the best road cars, and the Rex is an awesome track/fast weekend beast so I'm pretty happy with my little collection. If I had the chance I'd prefer something newer than the Zed and the Rex is too loud at times!

depends on how much i can spend. would carefully consider a 350z but if i could i'd go for the audi rs4. however the tvr chimera can be picked up for less than 10k and i am a fan of the mk4 supra tt. an older m5 would be worth a look at too

was going to get a r32 gtr but i saw a boootiful 3000gt on the m62 yesterday and im tied between the two now!!

very sexy though

very sexy though

....unreliable, complicated, expensive to fix and run, and thats compared to the zed !!

Also big, heavy and a bit dull to drive

r32 gtr but i saw a boootiful 3000gt

It would take me about 2 seconds to decide which one! Just take a look at the reviews over the years. To big, heavy and duuuulllll. The AWD on the skyline is much better implemented, kind of like a rwd but with extra bells and whistles.

id rather work on a z than the transverse twinturbo v6 they could of put the engine in the right fookin way round

would like a vauxhall monaro v8 if money was better, good reviews reasonable money, good looking and fookin quick.

I have a strange liking for the GTO...but I'd never have one over a Z...EVER. Too garish, engine mounted the wrong way....the 2wd Non turbo models are FWD!!!

FWD = wrong. Layout = wrong.

/fin

MK2 golf, vr6 transplant with a supercharger :D

corrado engine?

corrado engine?

Maybe but ive been toying with the idea of either whacking an S3 engine in or a MK4 20v turbo engine and playing around with both of them :hyper:

The corrado and G60 conversion is quite common nowadays so would like to try something a bit different.

a supercharged vr6 corrado has always got me giddy, oh how i wish!

or a golf rallye

i had the 28 vr6 engine in my golf, a ltlle less horespower, but being front wheel drive it was more than enough
