since solving me boost leaks i have an annoying problem, when the boost comes in in 1st and 2nd gears it causes wheelspin, which im not too bothered about but when it spins it feels like the rear wheels are bouncing off the road, seems to be worse in the dry, i have had the car in the air at work and there isnt any play in the suspension, could it be time for new rear shocks or even upgrade to coilovers?

deffo suspension, have a word with peter from pps (he is a trader on here), i think paul had lowered springs on standard shocks, this would cause bounce from the springs

whats your tyres like when i had my old ones on they used to be a bit like that causing a tramping through the back axle when accelerating hard

tyres are 245/45/17 toyo proxes in good condition, will be fitting 255/40/17 when they die

how much would i be looking at for a set of half decent coil overs?

£800+ for coilovers or around £400-£500 for a setup like kyb's and eibachs

are your tyre's bald or under or over inflated

nah always keep me eye on them, what would you lot advise? coilovers or just a decent set of springs nd shocks? the car isnt an everyday driver but does get used every other day and for 1/4 mile runs and probably some track days if i can eventualy trust me new brakes

If you have adjustable shocks, they could be set too hard, that would cause a similar problem.

try fitting subframe locking collars first, might cure some of it.

Mine did the same and I fitted some collars and it was sorted. Get some like these and all should be well again. Worth getting some from the states as they're so much cheaper than buying them here, have a hunt around as there are cheaper and more expensive versions. Make sure you get the slotted ones and it will take you about 20 mins to fit if you can get the car on a lift.

Wheel hop - The 2 biggest causes are worn subframe bushings and Worn rear shocks.

The zed will still give a small amount of wheel hop with wheelspin as standard though, due to the floating rear subframe.

worn hicas arms joints can cause skipping but more lurching left/right if there bad

rear shocks are the biggest culprit check rebound on each corner

subframe bushing's that are worn like said can cause hop, but more than anything upset bodyroll so car ends up like a boat LOL

car seems very firm apart from this annoying little problem :headvswal

maybe you could do with another boost leak to stop it :D

I would say its cos of the subframe bushes being gel filled or old and worn out.

I read a lot about it on the yank sites and they say the Zed is prone to it, but you can get rid of most of it by fitting pineaples (collars) or poly bushes, go for the collars unless you want to take the subframe out.

also incorrect rear tracking will cause this.

check the side to side play in the hicas arms & joints 1st, then get the suspension alignment checked.

after that shocks & springs

are there any traders on the site that supply these bush collars?

My Z when I first had it was very skittish at the rear and found my HICAS arms needed replacing totally different ride afterwards. Ideally you need someone who knows Z's to identify the problem before forking out for parts you don't need.
