there is a hissing or buzzing noise coming from the back of my engine, next to the battery, sounds like a wind up toy car, it gets faster when revving the engine, you can only hear it when ya have ya head next to the back of the engine, any ideas what it is

also if i move the conection on the tps, it alters the engine note slightly, could it be a loose wire somewhere????

tps mines got slight sideways play and it affects the idling when fiddled about with thing its norrmal for old connectors as for buzzing or hissing have you got any boost controller parts fitted near there as they tend to make a bit of a clicking sound

no boost controllers, its right behind the back of the passenger side of the plenum, as you look into the engine bay, just left of the battery

sounds a bit like a quiet fuel pump buzz

It'll be the air regulator I reckon, should hiss on idle as that's the only place air can get in!! :D
