Idle when coasting in neutral sticks at 2k and then slowly drops back to 1k. Is this a serious problem I should get on top of before something nasty happens?

could just be a dirty idle air control valve, try romoving and give a clean

Thanks for the help but I am no where near competant enough to carry out that. I was never any good with mecano let alone dissassembling and reassembling an intricate part like that. Will it effect the car if left untreated?

mine is sticky and has been for a few months now ,it wont kill your car bud

would have thought it would be easier to clean the throttle bodies first. simple 30 min job and it cured my first idle problem
