Yesterday I discovered that run-flats are rubbish. I only drove it a mile to the nearest garage with an airline and the back end was swinging around like a pendulum  I'd rather have the space-saver on. Does anyone know if these tyres are repairable, as with normal tyres, or are they one-shot jobs?

Cheers

Dave

I used to work in the Tyre trade years ago and i am pretty sure they are not repairable due to the stress imposed on the side walls under zero pressure. If a tyre company repairs the tyre they can become liable if it fails.

run flat DON'T FOOKING work ...i know mile and a half down the motorway and the thing blow up ....

According to my son, who used to work in the trade, they are repairable but it is usually down to the fitters disgretion. It all depends on the damage done to the tyre, where the damage is and how far you have driven on it. The make of tyre can also be a factor.
