hi peeps

was wdndering if its possible to have the mirrors on my zed fold in when i switch the ignition off and fold out when i switch ignition on

if so any ideas how to do it

You could probably get your alarm modified to open/close them as well.

Not that straight forward, you need a power source that will power down after you take the key out, something like the radio aerial and to power up when you start the car. You need to tap into one side of the power switch for mirrors in and the other side for mirrors out. Might need a relay too.

to be able to do it you need some sort of timed unit like possibly a total window relay. this senses the resistance when the window gets to the top & shuts itself off. you would need 2 units though as one would have to work on a switched positive for open & the other to run of a switched negative to close. both the pos & neg come from the ign switch.

yeah, i use a timed relay for my window closure. most audio accessory shops will sell them

its very easy to make up and fit, its just the price of 2 units, which are roughly £15-20 each. you only need the 2 door version one though.
