hey just been looking at you Zed on the rides section.

The pic of your headlamps, you have a ring around the lights like a bimmer.

Did you do that?

oh and also i see you have 533bhp at the wheels what's that at the flywheel?

why thanking you ;)

cos did them for me a while ago - not sure he gets on here anymore - they are chromed with angel eyes as side lights and they have the indicators in as well.

bhp should be a little over 600 i would have thought

alex

Cos was going to do me an angel eye conversion but he decided to stop making them so never had them in the end :( Gutted as I really wanted a set and still do TBH. Apparently it's not that difficult to put together and he did say that all the parts are easily available but I've never looked into it in that great a depth. If someone started making these for a sensible price I'd bite their arm off.

Hey guys,

I remember Cos doing these. Despite the parts being easily available the actual process of getting them fitted to the Z headlights is quite time consuming. The existing angle light ring is bigger than the round bezel on the Z headlight. It must therefore be "shrunk" to fit and this is where it gets labour intensive (involves an oven and very careful cutting ...) To be honest, I don't blame Cos for not doing these because for labour cost alone it would make the conversion unfeasible to offer (financially that is). Guess CJ's car is a one-off! ;)

Hey mate, hope the trip to foreign climes went well (including the speech! ;))

If you know where is best to source the parts and the process involved I'd definately be interested to learn and have a crack at doing one for myself (yet another mad project to add to the list  ;))

Hey Leigh,

The trip was fab - will tell you about it next time we meet up :x:

I'll speak to you soon regarding the angel eyes.

Regards to your "better" half as well,

Dan

I would take a peek at hella's new lights.

Im running the scooped headlights from luke with 4 x hella's.

I think they're doing a range with angels eyes in as std items now.

Hey guys please keep us posted on this as i'd also like to know how he put indicators in the headlight unit

Those are ultra bright orange LEDs wired directly into the indicator circuit. Carefully drill a hole into the headlight insert and fit the LED into a nice bezel. Stick that onto the headlight insert and run the wiring behind the headlight unit. Not a big job but do take your time to do it nicely ;)

You're a star :D

They are very time consuming as i spoke to Cos on a few occasions and attempted it myself....took me 3 full days to get it right and i swore i would never do it again as its not worth the aggro

Fas, would you mind taking the time to post up a "How To" as, despite the difficulty involved, it's definately a mod I want to carry out.

Cheers,

Leigh.

Ill try to the best of my knowledge but alot of it was guesswork as you literally take the headlight apart and you basically get the smallest o ring as an angel eye and cut from one side and take a small piece out of the ring.....heat it up and bend it into a o again and hopefully it would have shrunk the angel eye into a fittable size......i actually went through 3 o rings before i got it right but then glueing it on and fitting the indicators was a nightmare......you basically have to get hold of some side indicators and drill a hole into your lights in the shape of the indicator... you also need to get a resisitor fitted as they wont run the way you want them to and flash to quick as mine do currently....once you.ve put it back togther you need to get some silicone bags so it doesint steam on the lens and you seal the outer glass and plastic with silicone gel to stop the leaking

Off the top of my head i think thats most if it

Cheers, appreciated. Where did you pick the o-rings up from? Did Cos supply them or did you get them yourself from Hella etc?

Cos supplied the first bunch but i went right through them......i managed to get a mate of mine to bring me some from his work place........he was one of the suppliers to euro car parts......all in all.....i would say try and get about 6 o rings

Cheers again. :) Will try and get hold of some and have a play as the lights need to come apart anyway for a good clean! :D
