This morning I was woken up by a knock on the door to tell me someone had driven into the back of the Z  :mac1:  :headvswal

At least they had the decency to stop and give insurance details (The only witness being a police officer might have had something to do with it)

To say I'm Pi**ed off is an understatement

Thats a strange looking impact, quite high up with no apparent damage to the lower part of the car.

What did they drive into it with?

Feel for you bud.

Ah mate, gutted for you..Hopefully insurance can sort it out without too much hassle

I'm only TPFT so I've got to deal with it all myself :(

What did they drive into it with?

A Ka parked at the side of the road (Opposite to mine) pulled out into traffic and hit an Audi (Old estate thing) into mine

Are you sure? Our lasses car was TPFT last year when some pissed up

CNUT drove over the top of it, within her policy we had legal cover

even had a courtesy car for 9 months  while they argued over it :xxx:

A bus went into the side of my other car a couple of years ago and it was the same then, they were all to happy to take details down but then said they won't be chasing any of it up. Probably because the accident itself will put my premium up even though I wasn't anywhere near the car when it happened.

EDIT: Although I do have another car so won't be needing a courtesy car, unless they offer me another equally powerful beast

If the other party admits liability then you should be able to keep the car without any hassle.

What should happen is: you inform your insurance, he informs his, you then make a claim off his and they come and assess the car, if they write it off they will make you an offer minus the value of the car and you get to keep it because it is yours and not theirs.

Well thats what happened to me with an old shitter I had years ago.

  gutted for you mate thats such a tidy car I hope the idiot in the Ka's insurance triples :mac1: i hope you get it sorted bud

That's made me feel a little better.

Thanks for all the replies guys, it is very much appreciated

In all likelyhood they will write that off

Seriuosly gutted for you, i'd be totally devastated.

But cheer up, they will pay!!

Oh Dear Dave

I see what you mean, when I got the text thought you'd had been injured too

Buy it back! won't take that much to fix it ....., least it wasn't the bonnet/crossmember

So sorry for you, I'll take you out in my Zed to cheer you up!

We've just gone throught this with the REX

Don't let them give it a catagory C write off. You can get the monies but talk with the assessor making it clear you don't want it writen off as you can source the parts far far cheaper then they can.

All the best

Update

I've had one quote back at £1416 for labor and painting. But I need to source the parts myself.

The bumper and 99 spec lights are easy enough to get. But does anyone know of someone breaking a car that would be willing to chop that section out of the bodywork, preferably in the midlands.

edit: And the bumper reinforcements

Thank you
