Hi Guys,

 

Just posting this looking for your opinions!

 

I bought a SWB TT Z tuned up a fair bit but because the head gasket was going it was for a song. My original intention was to take the tuning bits off it, replace them with stock, repair it and sell it. Then put the performance parts on the Convertible when I TT it!

 

I took it to Darren he took it for a drive and said it was one of the fastest Z's he had driven, and as a ballpark estimate he said it was 450+BHP! He didn't think that it was producing that power on external Mods alone, that he could see without stripping it down!

He recommended that if I was looking for a unit to put into the convertible, this was it!

 

If I follow this through it means I will have a totally mint 89 SWB body and a NA engine with only 20k on the clock!

 

I could break the body, but I don't have the space!

It would cost me to put the engine back into the SWB Z, which in the end, would it be worth that much!

My only option would be to sell the body to someone who has written off their beloved Z and can transfer all the bits over!

Then sell the lump?

I have to try and recover my costs to lower my bank managers Blood Pressure!!

 

Ideas on a postcard please!!

Shoot the bank manager and do the swap. I think someone said that you can give dead Z32's to Mike Feeney at MJPAutos to break for you and then split the £££'s as the money comes in from dumb schmucks like us.

If you put them together you will have a mint low mileage NA Z, surely you must be able to get some money back for it(if you sell it)

How much is NA insurance compared to a TT import?

All i can say is beware if Jap import engines pushing hight HP.

 

I have to disagree with Darren and say that probably all the Guy has is bigger turbos and that is only a possibility - You can check this from underneath the car.

 

Most Japanese Z32's dont upgrade the internals till much higher coz they know exactly what the car can handle - Those who have seen the TD06 700bhp car on Stock internals will know this !

 

More than likely the car is running bigger turbos - bigger injectors and a ECU - you will find most J Sepc cars run this and not much more , except the really special ones.

 

remmember you can get away with a bit more on 102OCtane than 97 Best !

The shell goes up by 5 grand if it goes to anyone North of Watford(the thought of it just makes me shudder).

If you are gonna play Z poker, I gonna raise you to 6 Z's!

Hi Nico,

 

You are probably right mate!

 

The car detonates at high revs, but it was still running on the crap fuel supplied by the dickhead who had it before me.

 

The SWB has HKS dump valves, HKS EVC, Kakimoto exhaust and downpipes no cats, Turbo timer, and an upgraded clutch, HKS Air Intake, if that gives you more of a picture.
