Looking to buy a video camcorder, know nothing about them, but want the hard drive version rather than the disk. Can anybody recommend a good one? Also roughly how much video footage can the hard drive hold? Don't want anything too technical just a point and press and maybe a zoom will do. Not got a price range in mind, so any options recommended

thanks graeme

I just went to Jessops, had a look and a chat to one of the guys, he seemed to know quite a lot, and then chose one!

Sound advice, then when you have decided go on http://www.reviewcentre.co.uk to see what other people think and then Froogle and find where it is cheapest!

Those hard disks are expensive to replace, unless you can rip one out of an old iPod!

Have you considered a solid-state one? We had a Sanyo one in work to try out. The quality was as good as an HDD camera, it was pocket-sized and supported hi-def too. The Hi-Def quality was OK, but we needed to render it using Final Cut Pro before we could watch it. After rendering, it was fantastic. It's also a 7.1 MP still camera and they're on e-bay all the time for around £225-£280:-
