Gatso Warning

Somebody recently posted a message that said if the two holes on the back of the camera are closed then it's not active. I don't belief it 'cos my Valentine One went ballsitic going past one with the holes closed last night. On the return journey I saw it double flash at least 3 cars.

So Beware!!!!!

I think that the local constabulary in Bucks have gone money mad. Since the weekend every camera that I have passed has been active. I suppose theat the addition revenue pays for the film.

The camra always flashes, your detector picked up the camra sensor that detects the car speed. The most inportant point is that only 2 in ten camras have film in them.

Personally I think that the vents thing was a load of rubbish. No camera needs vents to cool down. Considering all a camera does is open and close a shutter and roll along the film.

The vents where probably for the power, but if the power box is probably under the ground.

The newer cameras don't use film - they send a digital image back to a central computer.

That unfortunately closes the 'slight loophole' exploited by a motorist near Liskeard in Cornwall a couple of years ago....the police reckon that he had been 'snapped'....so he cut down the Gatso with an angle grinder and made off with it!!

Less fortunate was an individual who rammed a Gatso in his transit van....then attempted to set fire to it....he'd been nicked by one of the digital ones, so his number was already up so to speak.
