200sx s14 turbos on a zed?

has it been done? will they fit?

my engine is out at the moment, so i might as well change the turbos. 200sx turbos are quite cheap and easy to find.

but will it work?

cheers

should think its a lot of mucking about and fabricating to be done fella. Remember you need a turbo on each side of your car not just one side like the s14, left and right turbo housings are gonna be different. After paying out all the wonga to get them altered you could buy much better bolt on Zed upgraded turbos.

i dont wanna pay loads out for big turbos tho, then i'd want injectors...........!

what sort of price could i find upgraded turbos?

cheers

Modifying turbos not made for a Z to get them to fit = big bucks

Fitting uprated turbo's made for a Z = depends what your budget is but this is the route i would say go down, if your gonna spend some money then do it once and do it right.

Fitting recon turbos made for a Z = cheapest but so many horror storys

Now if you uprate your turbo's you dont have the run them at full boost mate so you dont have to have new injectors etc.

How much money are you looking to spend on turbo's?

maybe worth contacting Mark (topless) to see if he can get his hands on some. he used to do some good tubs at a very good price :)

without sounding tight, i want to spend as little as possible.

im looking for around 400 bhp.

what price do you think is right?

that'd be nice, but at the fly wheel will do (for now)!

400bhp at the wheels you need new injectors fella.

400 at the engine you should get with a stock set of turbos + decat + upped boost to 15psi + correct chip + filter + lightened under drive pully.

As to what turbos to get, t25/t28 hybrids are an option (Talk to smithy)

There is NO difference between left and right turbos. All turbos are the same no such thing as left handed and right handed ;)

They are simply 'clocked' differently - the exhaust and compressor housings will rotate around the centre housing to get the correct fitment :)

Presumably you're talking about the S14 turbos? AFAIK they are T28s - bit too big and laggy for the Z unfortunately especially if you're only going for 400bhp at the crank...

You may need to fabricate an adaptor for the compressor inlet so that it suits the stock Z intake pipes but this is no major biggie. You will deffo need 5 bolt downpipes though on the exhaust side - these are available from most places these days though :)

thanks for that mate, but would upgradeds be better? i'd go for more power if i can, but zedworld said its best to stay around 400 bhp for reliability. cheers

Oh sorry

Hang on you just said there is NO difference in big ole capitals

Make your mind up fella ;)
