you guys know that display that shows the temperature on the windshield wiper box right? ok what i want to do is change the numbers from fahrenheit to celsius. so i bought a used german switch box that showed the numbers in celsius and thought i would just have to change it. so i did that and the numbers are still in fahrenheit! how come?? how would i go about changing this? the only thing that i could think of, would be the ecu right?

i took booth of the switch boxes apart and the socket boards are actually different. even the display is different check them out

 

 

 

so any ideas?

The one on the left is from a series 2 car mate, the right one is a series 1.

yeah the one on the left is from mine that i imported from the usa and the one on the right is the one that i bought from a german guy. in his car it showed the temps in celsius. so i put his in mine and it still shows me in fahrenheit! why??

Jap ones display in celsius.

You will need the Series 2 Climate control ECU/Amp for it as well.

Yes the Aircon wont work properly until you replace it with a display of the same series. So even if it was working in celcius it would be pointless as the aircon wouldnt work!

 

I reckon you will have to swap the ecu box to get the right reading, not the display. Also there is another circuit board in the pod (in the 'bulge') try swapping that over.
