Chassis Nos - oh no not again - here's the answer

For those of us who are interested, I have now got a price from the SMMT to extract all chassis numbers, model numbers and the GCZ / GC2 mistake from their master database supplied by the DVLA.

Why do we need to? Simply, the DVLA database is wrong. So it's nice to know. Also, suppliers might find this info useful to plan their purchases / marketing. Lastly, it sometimes comes in handy when trying to persuade the importers of cars like Nissan Motor GB how important the grey import market is to them and their dealers.

More background is here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/ubbforum/Forum6/HTML/000558.html

It's too expensive for me to fund on my own (£425 + VAT) so I have e-mailed potential supporters:

CLUBS: Z Club, Datsun Owners Club, Nissan Turbo Owners' Club, 300ZX Forum

SUPPLIERS: MJP Auto; Grasshopper; Zedworld; Safe and Sound; SE Nissan; Xoticar; Cybercraft; Hiteq; Paul Bailey; Z Centre; Racelogic; Japarts

If you would like this info made available:

to your club - tell them to support this;

to your supplier - tell them this is important to you

to you - if you want to know, we'll have to rustle up enough cash somehow!

Cheers All - Gio
